Started some character development today. It's really helpful to breakdown the characters and get a better undrestanding of them. I did a questionnaire for my MC and I learned a lot, even when I thought that I knew all that I could know about her.

Here are some links I found:

It's that time of the year! I am getting set up for NaNoWriMo by doing a lot of prep for my novel!
I'm really excited and I will be blogging my way the way through. From start to finish.
Starting with all the prep I'm going to be doing over the course of the next few weeks.

This year this whole process has been different to say the least.  I have been getting a lot of words out per day, it just doesn't fill like it at all. Right now I am getting about 3k a day. As far the the actual movement of teh book though, it doesn't feel like that. It feels like things are taking forever to get out. Not that the plot is slow moving or boring. Just that when I see that I wrote 2k I'm just like, really? It doesn't feel like that at all. nothign has even happened! Maybe it's just because I have wrote this story so many times. I feel myself getting to the very end of this story. I'm ready to have it all written out and to start editing and getting it moving.

Today I am hoping to get to 50k, which will be about my halfway mark in this story. Somehow the book is just this long, no matter how much I have tried to consendce it. It just wants to be along apparently.

So to reach this mark, I am using devices to get myself moving. The plan is this: write 1k and then get to knit for 5 minutes. I am just going to keep doing that 20 times and I will be there!

Wish me luck.

How is everyone else doing?

How is everyone else doing so far? Can you ebleive we are almost half way through? It's insane. It always goes by so fast anymore.

Today the words just flowed. It was pretty amazing. Although the story itself is just going by so slow. I should be a bit further along in the story than I actually am. It's nice because of teh words I suppose, but this book is being really long. And amazingly, this is me trying to conserve on the word count.
But today was great to because I disconvered Written? Kitten! And...it's amazing! You write and it rewards you with pictures of kittens. Like Write or Die, but reward instead of consequence. At one point I did 800 words in like twenty minutes. It helps. www.writtenkitten.net. I highly suggest it.
I am about one day ahead right now, which is great. I do tend to fall a little behind from time to time. So I am hoping I stay 1 day ahead for a bit.
Tomorrow I have my first write-in of the month with my region. For some reason those things always make me so nervous. But here is to write-ins adn good times.

Today the words just flowed. It was amazing. I only spent maybe a little under 2 hours writing and I got so far in such a small amount of time and while multi-tasking as well. It just went so well. I guess I should say though that the amount of words flowed. I was still stuck on the prologue all throughout those words. I did not want to write that prologue. It was sad and I was miserable writing it. Things will get easier in the book after this and the words will probably come even faster too. Day two was a great success overall though.

Excited for day three ebcause I have no work. So I am going to sit at home all day, sprinting and writing all while watching Christmas movies on Hallmark.

It's that time of year again! I am going to be sticking close to my LJ this year, I find it gives me more support and motiviation to keep up with it during NaNoWriMo. I stay on track a lot more.

Yesterday I really brought my opening scenes together with a play by play. I never really outline this way, but I was feeling more nervous yesterday and the words were just flowing with my outlining. So I went with it. Turns out it helped me a lot, especially since I discovered a few plot holes and the sorts. So I'm glad I did it. I'm following along with my outline, finding it's really helping me. Although these scenes are taking more words than I had originally anticipated, which is always good I suppose. On page 6 and still in the prologue.

Some background on this novel. I had started the concept in 2008. I wrote my first draft for that Nano. After that I thought I was done, but this story was always in the back of my mind. It's been there growing. So every year since then, excluding 2010(because I really thought I was done!) I have written a new draft of this novel. This year, I'm really hoping this will be the last year I write a draft of this. I have pulled teh story together the best I think I can, the characters are better understood and I better understand where I am coming from with with novel. I really think this novel is going to be the one. I am going to go all the way with it, all the way up to self-publishing and self-promoting. I have a good feeling about this. And plus, I am just a little bit attached to this story now. It's personal now.

Well, that was enough distracting myself. I have to go to work in 2 hours. Better get back to the grind! How is everyone else?

Okay, I just have to put my apprciation for Write or Die out there. It is literally the best thing ever. I have barely written anything at all, it's not been something has come easy to me and I've considered quitting all together. But then yesterday I decided to give it another try(for the sake of NaNoWriMo and all that) and I went on Write and Die and I did awesome! I wrote about 1000 words in like 10 minutes and I loved what I wrote and I was having FUN doing it. Something I haven't had with writing in such a long time.
So thank you Write or Die.
I am going to spend the next few hours writing and preparing myself for NaNoWriMo!

Hey everyone, I was gone for a long time! Sorry for falling off teh face of teh earth. I had a really hard summer, which I will sum up here.

So at the end of June my niece was bitten by a pittbull(her grandparents that stupidly would not get rid of the dog.) She had her lip bitten of and spent about 6 weeks in the hospital most of teh time being in a medically induced coma.
She's my younger brother's daughter and this was the hardest thing I think he ever had to go through and it was horrible to have to sit there and just...watch as he went through it.
It was a really bad experience that I NEVER want to go through again. It just put me in this really bad place. I ended up failing all of my classes for that semester and quitting my job. I could not force myself to do anything but just sit there.
And on top of the bad situation it was period, her bio dad was stirring up all kinds of trouble. He had called the police on my brother while we were all in the hospital. He was trying to get my brother charged with neglect(which was completely false obviously) He went to the news even and went on camera with this completely bogus story that he came up with as to why my brother was being neglect. He tried to say that he left his daughter alone for 45 minutes after she was attacked. This went really hard on my brother he kept saying he was the most hated person in the area he lived in because of it.
It's the first time I legimattely wanted to kill someone. I don't think I have ever had more hatred for anyone then I had for him.
She's out of teh hospital now, but things are still really rough.

So I'm finally dragging myself back online for the sake of NaNoWriMo that is coming up in 5 days! Hopefully I can get my stuff together to be able to do well and have fun during it.

Sorry again for being gone for so long. I will be on a lot more now and updating with everythign else going on and NaNoWriMo of course!

The finale was so intense. I was not expecting anything less, but it was a surprise still the same.
I really didn't think it was the soon to be mayor guy, although he is obviously guilty of something. He was still soliciting in the services and threatening those women and having all of those affairs with women who looked exactly like Rosie. And he was not where he said he was that night and the girlfriend is pretty convinced he is guilty too, so....
But I can't believe the detective guy. I have always thought somethng was up with him the whole time. He acted shady. But I really did not think he had anything to do with it. I think though if I rewatch the season, I will see the clues. i mean, they did leave clues for Boyco and the teacher guy. I bet there are clues for these two guys too.
And I really not on the same page as Mitch. At all. She is....just acting so stupid. She is acting like she is the only one who lost Rosie. Like she is the only one hurting and feeling guilty. I mean, I get it. She's the mother, so she has different ties to Rosie and all of that...but still. I can't believe the way that she is acting.

Anyway...I can't wait until next season.

and also....Boy Meets World is on DVD now. All seasons. I have to buy those as soon as possible. They are cheap on Amazon. So I might get those soon. I loved that show so much when I was a kid.
